According to foreign media reports, as more and more countries launching 5G commercial networks, and the scope of 5G commercialization is getting wider, telecom equipment companies have also received more and more 5G commercial contracts. Ericsson's current 5G commercial contracts have exceeded 75.

Ericsson's new 5G commercial contract comes from Azercell, an Azerbaijani operator, and the two companies have signed a three-year 5G memorandum of understanding.

Ericsson and Azercell's 2020-2022 5G Memorandum of Understanding includes the expansion of the 5G trial area and the introduction of IoT technology into mining, agriculture, manufacturing, housing, and public services. Considering that Ericsson and Azercell have already cooperated on 5G, it is expected that the two companies will sign a 5G commercial memorandum of cooperation. Ericsson and Azercell had already teamed up to deliver a 5G trial network at a 5G trial area in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan.
