Generally speaking, InfiniBand cards support full-duplex communication, that is, data can be transmitted in both directions at the same time. The advantage of full-duplex communication is that it can improve the efficiency and real-time performance of data transmission, but the disadvantage is that more physical lines and control logic are required.
However, InfiniBand cards can also work in half-duplex or simplex mode, depending on the requirements and design of the application layer. Half-duplex communication means that data can only be transmitted in one direction at the same time, simplex communication means that data can only be transmitted in one direction. The advantage of half duplex and simplex communication is that it can save physical lines and control logic, but the disadvantage is that it will reduce the efficiency and real-time data transmission.
